The Rothaargebirge Nature Park alone with the Rothaarsteig offers you a whopping 800 kilometres of signposted hiking trails.
Numerous premium hiking trails take you through the beautiful nature of Bad Berleburg and its surroundings. The best known is certainly the Rothaarsteig. With a total length of 154 km, the "Path of the Senses" in the middle of Germany lets you experience hiking with all your senses.
In addition, the Wittgensteiner Schieferpfad and the Via Adrina attract hikers to small and large tours in the Sauerland. Diverse and mountainous landscapes also await you on the multi-day hike of the Panorama Trail, on the Red Kite High Trail or the circular hike of the Wisent Trail.
Challenging trails in harmony with culturally rich works of art: The "creative walk" WaldSkulpturenWeg, which was created between 2000 and 2010, stretches over 23 kilometres from Bad Berleburg to Schmallenberg. Here you can experience culture in direct contact with nature. Eleven international artists participated in the artwork of this special and challenging hiking trail and created something unique.
The background of the impressive representation is the historical past between the Protestant-influenced Wittgenstein and the Electoral-Catholic Sauerland.

Pleasurably over the Eder cycle path, collect kilometers and altitude meters with the racing bike on scenic country roads, with the e-bike over a thousand mountains - our homeland makes your cyclist's heart beat faster.
The Eder cycle path is ideal for an extended cycle tour along the 176 km long Eder, a tributary of the Fulda. In June, however, things get more racy there - the annual Cycling Experience Day attracts many enthusiasts to the popular route of the Eder Bike Tour.
Mountain bikers and racing cyclists are also catered for in the Rothaargebirge with various routes and tours.
Especially the Bike Arena in the Sauerland, with 150 excellent routes from Olpe to Willingen and divided into different levels of difficulty, represents a starting point for numerous cross and trekking bikers. Dirt bikers and BMX riders also get their money's worth. The dirt bike facility on the Stöppel in Bad Berleburg promises absolute riding fun on a 140 m x 20 m area - for beginners to advanced riders.

The Sauerland counts a whole 150 ski lifts that promise unique skiing fun north of the Alps.
Especially the Skiliftkarussell Winterberg with its 26 lifts and 34 slopes and the Postwiese in Neuastenberg with a snow guarantee of about 100 days a year are popular points of call for many winter sports enthusiasts. Bad Berleburg's neighbouring ski areas - such as the Pastorenwiesen cross-country ski centre in Wunderthausen and the DSV Nordic Active Centre on the Steinert in Girkhausen - are also direct neighbours of the Wintersport Arena Sauerland.
The cross-country trails in Christianseck as well as the Rothaar trail also inspire many cross-country skiers every year with wonderful winter landscapes.
Networked with other cross-country trails of the Wintersport-Arena Sauerland, the trails represent high-quality cross-country trails of the Nordicsport-Arena. Traditional snowshoe hiking around Bad Berleburg provides pure enjoyment of nature.

The bison wilderness with its 20 hectares offers an exciting insight into the life of the bison. Visit the animals together with your family and hike 3 kilometres around the enclosure. Here you can observe the animals up close. Unfortunately, the circular trail is inaccessible for visitors with limited mobility and pushchairs.
Alternatively, you have the option of walking along the approx. 600 metre long, almost completely flat farm track at a reduced entrance fee. However, the view of the enclosure is restricted.
A must for every visitor to Bad Berleburg: The castle of the Princes of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg forms the centre of the historic old town and is located in the immediate vicinity of our romantic hotel. If you fancy some homemade bread, visit the bakery in Bad Berleburg! It appears by name in the original cadastre as early as 1825 and has been on the list of monuments since 1993. In 2014, the long aging structure moved to its new location at the Espequelle with the support of the Verkehrs- und Heimatverein.
It now hosts regular baking events, to the delight of many schools and clubs, where local and traditional baked goods are produced in community. Right next to it is a Kneipp facility with arm and water treading pools for appropriate cooling
