Would you like to spend a relaxing vacation in romantic Bad Berleburg - together with your four-legged friend? Then you've come to the right place: dogs are very welcome at the Alte Schule, so you can enjoy your vacation with your dog in the Sauerland to the fullest.
Whether a winter vacation in the snow, hiking days in the countryside or a short break with a view of the castle - in our dog-friendly hotel you can expect selected rooms with wooden floors, some with separate entrances, short distances to the outside and plenty of peace and quiet. Our vacation apartments also offer ideal conditions for a relaxing stay for two- and four-legged friends.
We only charge €10 per night for your four-legged friend - in return, he can make himself really comfortable in our dog-friendly rooms and vacation apartments.
When booking, simply let us know that you are traveling with a dog - we will be happy to reserve the right room for your vacation with your dog.

Not all of our accommodations are suitable for a vacation with a dog - but there are nice alternatives: At the Hotel Alte Schule there are four dog-friendly rooms available (1 double room, 2 romantic rooms, 1 deluxe). All of them have wooden floors and three of them even have a separate entrance Flying classroomwith vinyl flooring is also well suited - here you live in the middle of the house and are quickly outside without having to climb any stairs.
In the Hotel Altes Museum no dogs are allowed - there are only carpeted floors.
In the vacation apartments in Vollmer's Hof dogs are welcome in types A, B and C.
Up to two dogs are generally welcome in our dog-friendly rooms. However, please note that only one dog per room is possible for very large dogs - after all, your four-legged friend should also feel sufficiently comfortable. It is best to let us know the size of your dog when you book - we will then check the right room option for you.
Of course your dog can accompany you to breakfast! To ensure that all guests - with and without dogs - feel comfortable, we reserve a suitable place for dog owners in the restaurant or, in good weather, on the terrace. For reasons of hygiene, four-legged friends are not permitted to enter the open buffet or sit on chairs or benches. We ask for your understanding.
On arrival you will receive a small overview with all the important information about staying with your dog. So you and your four-legged friend can relax and enjoy your vacation.
A little treat awaits your dog on arrival: two bowls with a pad are available in the room - as well as a lovingly put together holiday box from our partner Belcando. It contains food samples, a dog waste bag and useful tips on vacationing with your dog. It's best to bring your own dog blanket - this usually feels the most familiar to your four-legged friend anyway.
Of course - our team at reception will be happy to give you personal recommendations for walks and hikes with your dog. Whether it's a leisurely walk around the castle or a detour to the Rothaarsteig: we'll show you where your four-legged friend will particularly enjoy it.
Please note that dogs are not allowed in the auditorium or in rooms with carpeted floors. Dogs are also not allowed in the Hotel Altes Museum.
